This page will be dedicated to The Virginia Rural Letter Carrier, our state newspaper. The Virginia Rural Letter Carrier is published five times a year and is mailed to members of the VA RLCA as a means of providing news and information to regular, relief, and retired carriers; the Auxiliary and Juniors.
The opinions expressed are those of the writer and do not necessarily represent those of this association or its officers.
Permission is granted to other state and local RLCA affiliates to reprint articles from this publication providing appropriate credit is given to the author and this newspaper.
Attention State and National Association, Auxiliary & Junior Officer Candidates & National Delegates.......We MUST comply with U. S. Labor Department Rules regarding ALL candidate announcements.
State and National Association, Auxiliary & Junior Officer Candidates may submit announcements and photos for publication in the appropriate issue of this newspaper. They must be submitted by the candidate him/herself. They are limited to 250 words and must be mailed to the Editor.
State Officer Candidate announcements will be published in the May Issue.
National Officer Candidate announcements will be published in the July issue.
National Delegate Candidate announcements are welcome from ALL VA RLCA members. They will ONLY be published in the May newspaper. They are limited to 125 words & must be mailed to the Editor.
National Delegate Candidate Nomination forms are published in the NRLCA magazine in Feb., Mar., Apr., and May. Nominations may include self-nomination. They must be mailed to the VA RLCA Sec./Treas. (see Officers page for address). They must be received by the VA RLCA Sec./Treas. at least 40 days prior to the state convention.
National Delegate Reports & national convention photos will be published only in the newspaper following the national convention.
Candidates (including incumbents) whether or not they are elected & national delegates may NOT mention within any of their other newspaper reports, articles or "Letters to the Editor" that they are seeking election or reelection and they may NOT include words "thanking" members for their vote or support.
NEWSPAPER SUBSCRIPTION POLICY
The VA RLCA offers complimentary subscriptions to this newspaper to other state editors, NRLCA Association, Auxiliary and junior officers, as well as spouses of deceased carriers, if the spouse is a member of the VA RLCA Auxiliary. Out-of-state regular, relief or retired rural carriers who are members of the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association may request paid subscriptions, at $5 per year, by sending their name, address and NRLCA membership number (found on the mailing label of their national magazine, one line above their name) along with their check, made payable to VA RLCA, to this newspaper's Editor (address above).
