AUTOMOBILES
One of the major concerns of all members of the rural carrier craft is the procurement of a suitable vehicle for use in their daily pursuit of a paycheck. The trick is to achieve this and have some of that paycheck left after vehicle expense.
There are many different options carriers across the country explore to find the best method for their personal use. Whether it be a right hand drive vehicle, dual controls, a converted vehicle, etc., I will try to provide information here.
MOU CONCERNING RHD PURCHASE
Hello all:We are receiving letters, e-mails, and phone calls pertaining to the incentive to purchase a new and used RHD vehicle. As of November 20th, 2006 at midnight, the rural carrier contract between the USPS and NRLCA expired. The tentative agreement which had provisions for incentive payment to rural carriers that purchased RHD vehicles (new and used) and conversion to RHD, was voted down by the membership.There is currently no agreement with the USPS for incentive payment for purchase or conversion of RHD vehicles.Thank You!
